About the Inventor

Caleb Dykema is a mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Platteville and the inventor of the single sweep whiteboard eraser. After watching his professors use up valuable class time erasing their white and blackboards, he developed a small-scale prototype of 1Swipe in his college house and went on to win several awards at the university. Caleb began working with WiSys in 2018 to patent the intellectual property around 1Swipe and attain grant funding for a full-scale prototype. He went on to speak at the 2018 Wisconsin Science and Technology Symposium (WSTS) and placed second at the Wisconsin Big Idea Tournament in 2019. Caleb returned to WSTS in 2019 where he received the Carl E. Gulbrandsen Innovator of the Year award.
